Ogilvy & Mather will soon open a new international agency called David (inspired by the legendary David Ogilvy).

The agency will be headed by Gaston Bigio, Ogilvy’s regional Creative Director in Argentina; Fernando Musa, CEO at Ogilvy Brazil; and Anselmo Ramos, VP Creative Director at Ogilvy Brazil. They have already worked together at Ogilvy Latina and they are also keeping their current Ogilvy titles.

The Ogilvy Latina team is responsible of projects likeBrazil’s “Whopper Face”. This campaign was so famous that Ogilvy decided to develop an app so Burger King could be able to recreate the promotion anywhere.

David’s offices will be located in Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires and they will officially open in January 2012. Later in the year they plan to open another one inNew York: “To have a truly global agency, theU.S.is key” said Mr. Ramos.

The idea came up in Cannes, during they were celebrating the Lions won by Ogilvy’s Argentine and Braziloffices and the 100th anniversary of David Ogilvy: “It might have been the Lions, or theCannes atmosphere, or the alcohol”, said Mr. Musa.
